“In China’s cable industry, there is a surplus of low-end products, and what is still lacking is’ high, large and upper ‘metal conductors and their advanced manufacturing.” Huang Chongqi, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, metal conductor expert and senior engineer of the Shanghai Cable Research Institute, made such comments on the development trend of the cable industry at a cable industry forum held recently.
On July 27, the innovation forum of “New Ideas for the Development of cable Industry in the post-Okai Cable Period” held by Guangdong Wire and Cable Industry Association was held in Dongguan City. Guangdong Gold Cable Co., LTD., Dongguan Public Xing Cable Co., LTD., Shenzhen Dingtai Chemical Co., Ltd. and other dozens of cable companies responsible person and a number of industry experts, scholars discussed the future development direction and ideas of the cable industry. Among them, Huang Chongqi proposed three major directions for the development of the cable industry in the future, which received attention and hot discussion from the participants.
1 Wireless transmission technology or will promote the production of copper-clad aluminum wire
As we all know, cable products are born for power transmission, but traditional wired power transmission is being impacted by wireless power transmission, some people think that the emergence of wireless power transmission will reduce the role of cable products. However, Huang Chongqi said that the promotion and application of wireless transmission technology is also a new market for cable products.
Huang Chongqi said that wireless power transmission technology is mainly divided into battery induction, magnetic resonance coupling, microwave/femtosecond laser technology. These technologies can be used in medical treatment, underwater operations, robot work, satellite power supply and other applications. More importantly, it is expected to solve the problem of electric vehicle charging, charging electric vehicles long distance, safety and fast.
Huang Chongqi said that a wireless power transmission system coupled by magnetic field induction at high frequencies requires a coil with low resistance, because its efficiency is greatly affected by its mass coefficient. Because of its light weight and low loss, copper-clad aluminum wire wound coil may be used in wireless power transmission technology. With the popularity of new energy vehicles, copper-clad aluminum wire is expected to win more favor.
Recently, there are media reports that the Israeli government and a local company are committed to embedding wireless charging technology in the road, while launching a supporting electric bus, the bus can be charged at any time when driving on the road, in order to avoid the trouble of charging to the charging station. It is reported that the program uses inductive charging technology to lay basic equipment at one time to charge properly equipped electric vehicles.
2. The construction of high-speed rail may make the contact line industry a new hot spot
It is understood that by the end of 2016, China’s domestic high-speed rail mileage has reached 20,000 kilometers, accounting for 60% of the world’s high-speed rail mileage, and the construction speed has not slowed down. In addition, subway construction is also hot, by 2015, 22 cities in the country have built 95 subways, operating mileage reached 2900 kilometers, and more and more subway lines are built every year. The number of electrified high-speed railways such as high-speed rail is not only large, but also high speed requirements, and some lines are “advancing” to the speed of 400km/h.
Huang Chongqi said that the construction of a large number of high-speed railways and the increasing speed requirements require the use of a large number of high-tensile contact lines, such as copper magnesium contact lines, copper chromium zirconium high-conductive contact lines are important cable materials in the future of this industry. Although these materials are already on the market products, but now the technical requirements for its increasingly high, production enterprises need to continue to improve technology and equipment, in order to mass production, reduce the cost of prices.
3 Enterprises should eliminate excess equipment and do fine special cables
Huang Chongqi admitted that the current surplus of low-end products in China’s cable industry, such as domestic copper and aluminum rod equipment serious surplus, low productivity, backward technology, the market needs to resolve, eliminate and technology replacement, has not been suitable for mass production.
At present, there is still a lack of “high, large, upper” metal conductor and its advanced manufacturing. In the field of metal conductor processing, enterprises can start with the variety and quality of rods, wires and profiles, strengthen and do fine to meet the development needs of various special cables.
In addition, enterprises can also use domestic direct recycled copper rod new processes, new technologies and new equipment, upgrade, completely solve the national recycled copper rod quality problems, expand the production and application of recycled copper rod. At the same time, it should respond to the call of the state, promote development with innovation, self-improvement and independent innovation, so that the materials, processes, equipment and products of metal conductors can be upgraded to the high-end, and the old can be replaced and the new can be more dazzling.
